The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints recently celebrated the opening of its new Church History Library in Salt Lake City.

The Church History Library is a professional facility that preserves the Church’s vast collections of historical information, providing insight and inspiring faith and hope in visitors as they connect with the people, places and events in Church History.

A new movie, The Story Lives Here, explains the mission of the library in fulfilling the divine command, that “there shall be record kept among you.”  A highlight of the 14-minute movie is a dramatization of the story of Joseph Millett, to whom a famished neighbor was directed when in desperate need of food.  This story, now well known in LDS circles, was discovered in Millett’s personal journal – one of the library’s many holdings.

Access the movie here to play it in Windows Media Player or download it to your computer for later viewing.

And, if you haven’t done so already, consider visiting the Church History web site, where you can learn more about the Church’s history, historic sites, and historic preservation institutions.
